AANMA is aware of an Internet campaign to defraud the public and frighten patients regarding the safety and effectiveness of metered dose inhalers containing HFA propellants. This campaign purposely distorts facts, historical events and actions of nonprofit patient and medical associations, government agencies and pharmaceutical manufacturers all acting on behalf of respiratory patients and in compliance with international and federal law regulating ozone-depleting substances.
Campaign tactics include falsification of patient testimonials, harassment of patient education organizations, and slander against individuals, organizations and companies. In addition, the campaign is engaged in making false accusations to media and members of Congress in an attempt to advance their cause.
We regret that this campaign has caused even one patient needless anxiety and stand committed to helping all patients achieve freedom from respiratory symptoms.
