Making A Difference In Students’ Lives

ctgovConnecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell recently met with parents, children and advocates who were instrumental in getting legislation passed in Connecticut that protects students’ rights to carry and self-administer lifesaving asthma and anaphylaxis medications at school.

The bill—Senate Bill 755—was signed into law in July.  Some of the proponents were unable to attend the official signing in Greenwich so Gov. Rell invited advocates to her office in the Capitol so that she could thank them in person. Advocates included AANMA member Pam Minicucci (back row, second from right) and her daughters Gianna and Danielle (to right of Gov. Rell); and AANMA member Dawn DeMatteo-Brennan and her son Daniel (at far right).
