1. My daughter is seven months old. She has had a runny nose, congestion and mucus running down the back of her throat for five months now. I was told she has a virus but I think she might have allergies. Any thoughts?
Your thinking is right on. Symptoms of a runny nose, congestion and postnasal drip can point to a virus initially. However, when these symptoms linger for more than two weeks after a cold, other causes such as allergic rhinitis and sinusitis may need to be investigated. Be sure to let your daughter’s physician know your concerns.
