PRECIOUS (Pediatric Respiratory Excellence Criteria and Initiative for Outreach: US) Breathers is AANMA’s special program to help you identify respiratory problems in children under 5.

Everything about PRECIOUS Breathers is geared to little ones and the big people who love them! Here, you’ll find basic info about various reasons why your child might be having breathing problems—from common causes such as colds and teething, to more serious conditions such as asthma that require medical treatment. You’ll also find an online library of practical, family-friendly articles about some of the specific causes.

Register your e-mail address to receive news updates, participate in online surveys and webinars and have a chance to be a guest on one of our upcoming podcasts! Tell your toddler’s asthma and allergy story, make a video of your preschooler talking about asthma or allergies … share what you know and are learning. We’re in this together! All registered participants will receive a downloadable PRECIOUS Breathers iron-on to apply on a cute little onesie or t-shirt. Join our e-mail list today!

Medications
Asthma begins with inflammation: The lining of the airways – the breathing tubes leading into your child’s lungs – becomes swollen, inflamed and clogged with mucus and fluid.

H1N1 Flu
Novel H1N1 flu is a new influenza virus that is spreading throughout the country and around the world. Because most people have little or no immunity to it, medical experts expect it to cause widespread infection.

AstraZeneca TRACK Test
Developed by AstraZeneca, this tool can help determine whether your child’s breathing problems mean it’s time to seek more medical treatment www.asthmatracktest.com
